Update on Johor

Just an update on the condition down south, I just spoke with Yien Bin a while ago and he told me that some parts of Johor is flooded again as the rain has started again. He has told me that the Johor Bahru Tengah is still raining as of last midnight. The Pandan and Plentong area is now flooded. He has also said that due to the rain, some folks in his area(Skudai, I believe) were already seen going towards the primary school in his area, they were afraid that the water might rise again, so as a precaution they were all gathering at the primary school already. And truckloads of beds and mattresses has just been seen arriving the school compound.

And yeah the pool is over and we have managed to pool in RM1.568k to be used in providing aids to the flood victims, i would like to thank all those who chipped in and trusting me with it. Though some do not seem to agree in what i have done, but this is the least i can do, unlike most of them who are all so full of shit “All talk and no action …” - and thanks to Klangboy for his effort in bumping the fund, and thanks to Yao for going shopping with me and allowing the stuff to be stored at your home - haha!

***Update
Just an update to let you guy knows where the rest of the money is going, there is now a total sum of RM965.02 left, which will go to the second part of our “shopping” for mattresses, pillows, baby diapers, school uniform, mosquito nets, and more can foods.

Congrats on taking the initiative. You are doing a good job. But to be fair, to say some ppl just talk :) and do nothing has to be on an individual to individual basis. On my part we have collected and donated thousands. Last night my NGO collected RM500 for the flood victims and pledges of about RM10000 for another fund. We just use different channels.

But still, I admire your resolve and initiative. My work is easier as I have a pre-existing channel to channel my efforts to collect funds. For an indivdual like you, you overcame all the obstacles to help out …that is admirable.

w00t!I got featured. Thanks dude. Good news is, the rain’s stopped. Only it takes weeks again to get things back on track.

Another thing worth to mention, both the authority and flood victims reacted fast this time. The lesson learned during last flood was too costly.

cely, being a caring citizen myself, i have got the support of some of frinds in the blogging circle … if it wasnt you bloggers and the readers who are caring and kind, i would not be able to pull something like this …

Cincau, i like the k sounding ma, tiu …

Bengbeng, i am not saying all, just that most i have seen, are not doing anything, some are even still bitching bout their internet speed … I know there is alot of people out there who has done their part in helping, i am not trying to garner publcity with something like this, we just do whatever we can…

Yien Bin, this is how it is, yes - thats how typical Malaysians are … tidak apa attitude, when the death tolls goes up, then they start to blame this, and that … but still NGOs are the one who played the biggest part in all this, if you rely on goverment agencies to help, you will die there … and its also most of this govemental agencies wich are hindering helping efforts down south…

Klangboy, you too … u helped a lot …
