Summary Of The Trip Down To Johor
I do not where to start. Too many infos, i will try to tell as much as i can recall. To start it off, we met up at 530AM and was on our way 30 minutes later after loading our stuff. We reached Tangkak at 8′ish, had our breakfast there and the first thing which happened there wa this Mat Rempit who brushed his bike onto this old lady on a bicycle while speeding on a busy street, he crashed his bike and caused the old lady to fall off her bicycle. We got hold of the Mat Rempit and took his bike key, but the old lady kept on saying she was ok and did not want to see a doctor, luckily the old lady was ok. We demanded the Mat Rempit’s license and IC, and he kept mumbling that he left it at home. The old lady said she was ok and we were causing a huge jam in the middle of Tangkak. In the end we let him go and continue with our breakfast.

Also i would like to send my gratitudes to all the MARTS members who were there who helped us around. They were 9W2PCK(Choy), 9W2MG(MG), 9W2RTT(Raymond) - they were the ones who are going to distribute the stuff to the families they have identified to be lacking with the stuff we have purchased. They have been very helpful even though they were still busy packing their stuff, and their never ending calls from their wife to have to go back home to help packing. When i called them back later after midnight, i was told they were evacuating too. And also to 9W2TKC and Teh, who provided the transport to deliver the stuff down south, and Yao for the “shopping” and coming along on this trip.

First things first, let me let you people know that the stuff i brought down has so far been passed out to one family only so far since we left - that is this widow in Kampung Jawa who has just lost her husband the very same week it started to flood, we visited them in their house and only say a flimsy double blanket on the floor - which they got it on loan from another family there, thats how they slept for the widow, her mother and her 3 daughters. We gave them pair of uniforms each and blankets with some food. After we were back in KL, i was informed that they have passed out blankets and gas stove to this 50 something spinster who was living by herself. We were also informed later that the widow we visited earlier has been evacuated at midnight.

The rest of the mattress, blankets and other stuff are still being stored in a shop located in Taman Utama, on its second floor as the time we arrived in Johor it has been raining non stop, we did not have a canopy to cover the stuff so we had to load them somewhere, furthermore and the water level were rising and everyone around the Segamat area and lots of other areas were on alert, and were all busy packing so there was no point of handing them the stuff and all. We did want to get stranded there, so we unloaded the stuff to a floor belonging to Choy at Taman Utama and they will hand out the stuff later on.The stuff will all be distributed within this week.
I deleted them all, i wrote bout at least 5 - 6 paragraphs on how Armies was collecting a fee-per-head to allow people to get on their boats, and how JPA (Civil Defense) were hijacking stuff brought down to those flooded areas, how the looters were coming in from the back after you going out from the front, as if they know you would be out at the very same time, on how dumb the MB of Melaka is who is the main cause for causing the flood there. I got tired of it all, so if you guys still wanna know what the story is, i can tell u if i meet you or on msn la.
On our way out from Segamat, we met up with the convoy of 17 4X4(you can check out the pics later in a different post). We were suppose to be following this convoy of from MARTS too, but due some conflict of interest, like what i have commented in Lilians blogs, we decided to go our separate ways. Those who want to knoo what was the reason can email me or msn me, i can explain there, i don’t want to mention it out here. They brought along press, and they even had a flag off by some VIP, so its charity or publicity?
While we were there, we encountered an entourage and thought which fucking VIP was it, there was the new escorts super bikes from the Police, in fact there was 2 of them and lots of super power bikes with 2 other cars from TV3, i wonder what kind of help can they be bringing with their super bikes to the flood victims there.
I have just called Choy, and was told that its now still raining there. I will see if there is anything else we can all help again in near distant future. I would like to thank all those bloggers and blog-troll who helped by chipping in and help. Thanks for trusting me by handing your money to a stranger. The HAM members in Johor would like to extend their gratitude too. And yeah i would also like to thanks the other Ham members 9W2LOO(Loo) and another member whom i cannot remember his name or callsign Raymond aka 9W2RTT who came and had lunch with us in Muar, but i cant remember this Ham member’s call sign who paid for the lunch, but he owns an electrical shop beside Watson in Muar. Eh thanks for the lunch ya!
This is all i can manage to type, am blardy tired, will try to post up some of the pics i took on my phone cam - make sure you go check em out.
***Update
The rest of the convoy of the 17 4X4 is heading back to KL and 9W2BTL mentioned that they are traveling back from Pagoh and the roads there are flooded and the 2 lane roads reduced to 1 lane each on both ways, and railings on the roads are all washed off and he has just seen two 4X4 vehicles heading the opposite way with a jet-skis each. A convoy of Emergency Services are also spotted heading towards the opposite way. I assume they are heading towards Kota Tinggi or to those parts which are more badly affected.

Wuah, that means my guesses were right. Everyone is waiting for some VIP to leech to before they start doing something. Eh, btw, I thot they got a very caring royalty down there, mana dia pigi? I know the Sultan of Pahang would have been in there helping his rakyats, but this state tarak pon.
