Third Trip Down South

It s confirmed, will be making another trip down south, damn my weekends are so damn healthy these days. All are spent in doing charity works instead of sleeping it out after the usual drinking binge on Friday nights - haha. Ok for tommorows trip will bring us to Parit Yani, not sure where is it, but its after Batu Pahat if i am not mistaken. This was the place was suggested by the Rotarian Teo who we placed our stuff with last week.

The amount of 4×4 going down this weekend is a lil lesser as compared to the one last week… Its the same group i went with last week, the Buaya 4×4 group.

  1. Kokonut Soldier + Bed Covers
  2. Splashie Boy + Boo_licious
  3. Capt Masala Masalah
  4. Eagle (driving Wonder Virgin’s truck) + Little Red Indian Girl
  5. Qaiyum + Irfan
  6. Silversurfer + Kukujiao Me

The remaining RM900 will all be used up to get gas stoves. Those double burners. Thats all i am buying this time. From what Julian told me, this trip we will be delivering 247 bags of rice(5kg pack) thats is a 1.2 tons of rice man! And a whole lot of other stuff.

Ok wish us luck and safe journey down south!

And yeah Boss Stewie, eh sorry to ffk you, hahaha told you that if i have a trip, i wont be able to make it right… so you guys have fun at the bloggers meet up at Sg Wang.

Read about the other previous trips down south(Johor) here.

***Update

All i got this time was gas stoves, just plain gas stoves. Me and Stuart went on to the Giant in Kelana Jaya and met up with Joo Ti. With her around we manage to get a 10% discount on the purchases we made - Eh Joo Ti, appreciate it ya! Thanks!

Silversurfer then joined us shortly and after getting all the stuff, we loaded them all into his 4×4, We manage to get 16 double burners with the regulator and hoses. Each was RM45, and the regulator RM17 - so its RM992 - 10% = RM892.80, so i am still left with RM22.20.

Yeah the burner this time is a lil expensive, actually 1.5 more than the ones i first got for Lenga and Segamat. But i was as usual, running late and lets just say that Giant’s stuff are a lil on the pricey side. But the stove is appprently heavier than the ones we bought in Tesco, maybe its of better quality, lets hope ya!

Will use the RM22.20 to get everyone a bottle of water … Agree?

have a safe trip down south!

here’s something, next time you have a trip south for these sort of work, keep me in the loop. i might want to join in and help out - and maybe even play photographer for you guys. i think the charity you guys are doing deserves recognition. so keep it up and let me know. in the mean time, i’ll run the idea by my editors.

sweet! i’m actually interested to sign up for any future trips down if it doesn’t clash with my shift schedule as well.

looking at them 4×4s really gets me worked up man. think i’m gonna hunt for a diesel burner in future.

earl-ku February 5th, 2007 at 7:57 am

nawooz, surprisingly these diesel 4×4, does not burn a hole in ur pocket, those rangers la …

the odd thing is..i’ve heard nothing but praises for the Mitsubishi Storms (Dakar etc). However, this mechanic I spoke to recently stated that they are problematic. the engine was sourced from the old Pajeros.

He seemed to like the Toyota’s however. How bad was the terrain to warrant a 4×4 this time? Was it due to ground conditions or mainly due to the water levels?

earl-ku February 5th, 2007 at 12:39 pm

not sure, but they are mostly Ford Rangers … The Hilux are slightly bigger in term of cabin size, length, and loading area …

nah we all went by 4×4 as its bloody cool to see 6 vehicles in a convoy traveling in a line and the awwws and ooohs we get when this huge vehicles enter the towns, hahaa

nah its actually the load we have, with a pickup - you can load more stuff in them and a few week back when the uncertainty of a oncoming flood is there, a 4×4 is better vehicle to be in those places …

makes me wanna get one myself too if the situation warrants me …
