Anson Chu Cheong Fun

While i was over at Langkap last week, i was taken to this place in Teluk Intan for its famous Teluk Intan Chu Cheong Fun or Anson Chu Cheong Fun. It was well worth the 1 hour drive there … This is not the normal fare you get to eat in KL, first you have to make a call to that place to place your orders, then drive 1 hour there, then wait for 30 minutes, then no - you don’t eat there, they only serve take-aways … and nope - just in case you are wondering, this is not breakfast, its supper … late supper! Then drive another hour back and then only u get to savor it …

The Chu Chong Fun is piping hot, but since we can only tapau, and by the time we get back, it was a kinda warm only. The Chu Cheong Fun is steamed with some ingredients inside and rolled together, there is fried turnips, fried “har bee” - dried prawns, and some fried onions …

Look at the queue …

Ipoh people like their chu cheong fun very much … at 1AM

I tried getting closer …

“No No No - No pictures in here … Please wait outside for your chu cheong fun …”

The turnips…

RM3.40 for a pack …

Looks can be deceiving sometimes …

This is another famous in Teluk Intan … The Leaning Tower of Pisa

FYI, this palce is only open from 6PM to 7AM, to get your orders in advance - call this number 012.5088812

finally someone blogged about the Anson chee cheong fun…i’m actually originally from there and ate that for breakfast for years…i think it’s one of malaysia’s best find ever! goes without sauce, just the green chilli…! some people tried to vendor it in KL but failed miserably because it is far from the original one..
