Streamyx Again IV

Damn, i am shit pissed off now … as of 11:25AM just now i swear that i was still on a blardy fast connections, i did another test at 11:25AM and i could still hit 1400++kbps on my line with an IP form the 218.*.*.* pool. Then i went out for breakfast. Came back and did some more broswing and test, it was kinda fast, and i am able to get videos from dailymotion.com too, and it was very fast, Then bout 10 minutes later - i got a call from a guy by the name of Yus on my land line and he asked if my internet was better, i answered him yes - in fact way better than yesterday.

Then i went back watching my videos when suddenly it went all slow, i check my IP and its was fromthe 60.*.*.* pool, how can that happened? I never reboot my modem, but somehow my IP changed and the speed dropped back to what i had before the CEO came over. I tried rebooting the modem and try to acquire an IP from the 218.*.*.* pool, but it wasnt sucessful, for the past 30 minutes i have tried, and i am still getting IPs from the 60.*.*.* pool and my speed is now fucking slow again.

A test to the very same New York server which i managed to get earlier today at 1435kb/s or 175.17 kB/s but i am not getting 40kb/s or 4.88 kB/s on this 60.49.103.* IP address now…

This is another test to the Cyberjaya server which i mange to get 1281kb/s or 156.37kB/s

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?

Read these first if you are confused … Streamx Again, Streamx Again II, Streamx Again III

if you’ve been disconnect for a period of time before they visit your home, it might be as well they hook up VPN to your phone line at first then connect the VPN to their very own network. TMNet’s VPN could spin easily with 3000kb/s no issue. i’m running their VPN solution in my office atm on a 2000kb/s.

Simon Tan, that was yesterday … and there is that possibility of that happening, but that cannot explain why i am getting low speed rite, but maybe he has a client in his laptop … or proxy, but that was yesterday, last nite and this morning i was enjoying fast speed … well the ride was a short one … i never reboot my modem but i got my ip renewed? and i am now been turning my modem on and off for the pass hour, still canoo get the 218 ip range already … these fuckers are dodgy and fishy … fucking bastards …

Looks like you need to invite the CEO to your house again. Thank God you have his name card.

KennyP August 19th, 2007 at 2:28 pm

I think I should also start to make some complaints for my sucks Streamyx connection now and headache for a few month before it is ok, as like you

dekart August 19th, 2007 at 3:18 pm

write to harian metro again, publish pictures and make a youtube video footage of the pis :)

yipguseng August 19th, 2007 at 4:20 pm

dammit, maybe when u are on ur phone and when u say ur connection is better, they restarted ur port at the same time to force u to get a new ip. Shit them, maybe everything from yesterday till the phone call are just to put up a show to let the CEO see that they are doin things

Simon Tan August 19th, 2007 at 4:44 pm

thats what i do now. i subscribed 1mb stimx on my home connected speed (according to modem) 496 downstream. i hook up a vpn to my home 1mb stimx, connected to my vpn router at my office, and i am getting 200kB/s. thanks god to vpn.

WK August 19th, 2007 at 10:40 pm

Tell u waht..i check my IP,
my IP is 124.*.*.* how’s that for TMNET.
check it with http://www.checkip.org then it says im connected in Taiwan.
Is this my error or TMNET error?
Really LOL!!!!

earl-ku August 19th, 2007 at 10:48 pm

Caker, not sure what to do now, but thats a viable option as for now …

KennyP, you should …

yipguseng, not restart, i think they change the port … maybe they have some sort of low priority port, some medium priority port and some high ones, like QOS ports …

Simon, but you be able to get half of that speed without VPN … thats what u are paying for …

Jason, hahaha

Yipguseng, thanst another viable option now …

WK, the 218 ip pool are all Aussie IPs …

Kenny Ng August 20th, 2007 at 12:09 am

Ei… where was my comment on previous post gone? Anyway… no matter how it still better than my REDtone which always down every few hours.

kenny August 21st, 2007 at 11:17 am

i think the ceo + gm + technician visit is a stage act so tt they can officially say they’ve “addressed” ur prob n able answer to BoA etc. big co like TM knws hw to deal w these kinda reputation damaging events.

that aside, of so many complains i heard bout TM, the prob is they’re the main player in this service, offering n promising great speed at such low prices. beats the crap out of maxis, jaring price plans. when competition is fierce enough and when they see red figures in their PNL, they’ll buck the hell up

so, for new internet users..if u think of using streamyx, think again..its not worth ur dollars..

btw earl…u’ve got balls ;)

Bengbeng August 21st, 2007 at 1:16 pm

Refering to comment 14, yes i agree and they are big too hahahahhaha. We in Sibu have been ‘enjoying’ lousy streamyx connection and none have ever complained or if they did i am not aware. Here we are less of a complaining society so we get pissed on :(

Young August 23rd, 2007 at 11:00 am

Hello,
The IP 124 is not in taiwan.
Go to
http://ip-address.com

It’s in Kuching. I am also connected to that IP.

The biggest problem here is because TMnet don’t have any internet provider rival or competitor.. that’s why they could show us their lan jiao face to the customers as we could only rely on them. So, their thoughts would be ” if you want to use then dun use lo”.
If a new company of internet provider been set up and give services like other country. I think TMnet will gonna prepare for packing up to close down in just a few days.
